Are you sick of old-style decoration ideas and looking something simple and clean? than minimalism is your cup of tea. In the minimalistic theme, everything looks clean and sharp there are no overlapping of items so there will be uniformity in lines and pattern. The only and main rule to follow while designing room minimalistic is to be simple and have less item for decoration. More you leave the floor space more you are closer to minimalism but it doesn't mean you throw out necessary furniture like sofa, chair and table just to create space to get the minimalistic look. In that case, your room will be called an empty room, not a minimalistic design room.

Here are a few suggestions and simple ways to transform your room to minimalistic

Light painted wall

Most people prefer light grey colour for the walls to give minimalistic look but you can choose other light colours as well like ivory, cream or white. But avoid colours like light yellow, red, orange or green.
You can also choose an accent wall with colours like navy blue, brown, black, or any dark shade. In this case avoid colours like red, orange or other.

Fabric Sofas

Rather than choosing wooden soofas choose sofas which are made up of fabric from outside, you can also choose a sofa in L shape as it gives a very good and modern look.
You should also buy a coffee table which complements your sofa set.

Fall ceilings

A fall ceiling is one such design element which you can add in any form of interior design theme. But choosing the right false ceiling to compliment is difficult. Choose a design which follows simple line and pattern.
You can also go for wooden style ceilings or even you can leave it plain. the only disadvantage of leaving ceiling plain is that you cant integrate light in it but with false ceiling, you get the option of adding lights.

Massive wall Paintings

Choose a wall painting which is big in size rather than going for multiple no. of paintings to fill your wall. As I have already told free space is the key for minimalism. Have everything which is necessary for decoration but in less amount.
And the most interesting part of having a big size painting is it gets noticed easily by the people visiting you. You can also choose a pair of painting complementing each other.

Rugs

Who doesn't like putting there feet on soft fluffy rugs? and what if I told you can add rugs in your living area to get minimalistic design. You just need to select a one with simple lines and pattern, avoid flower and ununiform patterned rugs.
Adding rugs ads flare in your living space.

Lights for illumination

Everyone knows lights create illumination but what kind of lights for living room you should use to make it look simple, is the key.
Avoid big size chandelier and choose hanging or pendulum style light for the ceiling. For wall, you can choose a light which mixes with the ceiling lights or you can choose vintage style light holder.
You can also choose a table lamp with a long neck painted with an eye-catching colour like yellow or red.

Wall-mounted shelf

Just like the minimalism is in trend same way the floating wall shelves. People these days avoid those bulky showcases as it takes a lot of floor space at the same time are bulky to move and also looks outdated as well.
But with designer floating wall shelves you give your walls a refreshing look and showcase your mementoes there.

Appealing door knobs and handles

People always miss out on small details but these small details create the aesthetics right. So choosing the right set of accessories for your furniture, window and doors is important.
So can choose brash door handles, or any other metal handles for your door to make them appealing. And you also choose good quality trending door knobs in the market as well.

Plants

It doesn't mean adding plants create minimalism the way you are keeping it in your room will create minimalism. It will make your room eco friendly as well. So using a plant for decorating room is a good idea.
You can either keep small plants which need less sunlight and water or you can keep a big designer planter for decorating your room.
For plants suggestions, you can keep plant-like spider plant, snake plant, aloe vera, lady palm and there are many other options.

Curtains

Usually, the solid colour curtain is preferred for this type of theme so avoid floral print or any other random pattern or design curtain. If you are thinking of choosing a pattern one than choose a pattern with straight lines.
On colour, part choose colour either very light or either dark like navy blue, brown, dark grey, cream, white or beige but keeping in mind it mixes with the colour of the wall as well. Avoid colours like yellow, orange, red.
